I've never read the play but if you don't understand some parts then talk to the drama teacher. I'm in Speech and Debate so I have developed some good ways of destressing and i've also noticed some things people should avoid doing when they're speaking.

1. Don't bring up a pen, your ID, or anything you can play with while you're delivering your speech. People will nervously do that all the time and it destracts the people watching you.

2. Take a deep breath and close your eyes to clear everything out of your body (except for the audition of course) it gets rid of the gidders.

3. Try analyzing the play really in deapth before you do your audition. It will give you a better understanding of how your charecter feels.

4. Look into the eyes of the audience for 3 seconds. Count in your head: 1, 2, 3 and then stop (it gets to be creepy after that) when you look into the eyes it gives a real connection.

5. Don't practice in front of a mirror, it makes you nervous to look at yourself that long.

6. Practice in front of others and get their real feeback.

7. Chew gum before you go on, it relaxes your mouth (I know you'd think it would make your mouth tired but it wont!).

8. Why not ask your english teacher to help you better understand the play?

Good luck!
